Third Force Productions was founded in January 2018 with the aim of finding and telling powerful documentary narratives according to journalism’s best practices. Terence Wrong and Aysu Saliba are award-winning filmmakers with documentary credits that range from history, biography, and true crime to their critically acclaimed cinema verite docu-series. Their sweet spot is immersive storytelling that illuminates individuals and institutions that rarely grant access. Collaborating with an all-star cast of accomplished producers, editors and cinematographers, Third Force programs appear on broadcast, cable, and SVOD platforms.
For his television documentaries, Terence Wrong (Terry) has won many awards including multiple Emmys, a Peabody, an Edward R. Murrow and the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award. Prior to founding Third Force Productions, Terry was Executive Producer for Special Series at ABC News where he directed and executive produced a dozen series and nearly 100 hours of prime time programming. In particular, he has been credited with pioneering the genre of cinema verite docu-series. The prominent NY Magazine critic Matt Zoller Seitz calls him “an unsung hero of American documentary.” In his single episode work, Terry has trained his lens on a variety of people and subjects in America and overseas. Earlier in his career, he was based in Europe and the Middle East where he reported on many iconic news stories for major American news outlets.
Aysu Saliba enjoys singing, dancing salsa, slam poetry, and running half-marathons. She also enjoys the art of human storytelling. With over 10 years of experience in documentary production, Aysu has found herself everywhere from riding in ambulances in Newark, to questioning the former head of national security about election hacking, to getting a Tinder strategist to spill secrets behind the optimal profile pic (asking for a friend). Whether it’s behind the camera, in the edit room, or running a 20-person shoot in the field, Aysu is adept at navigating complex situations within sensitive environments. She approaches every story with genuine curiosity and passion for understanding what makes people tick. And the thrill of capturing emotionally charged moments and presenting them to audiences in a creative way makes her feel like singing, dancing salsa, running half-marathons…
